If you have been checking in with me hoping for an update, thank you. It’s nice to be checked in on. You might be happy to know I’m not dead. Or not. I’ve been busy doing some stuff. Mostly the following:
1. Lying in bed staring at my ceiling.
2. Watching American Idol.
3. Calling my sister about American Idol during the commercial breaks.
4. Being rather seriously depressed.
5. Waiting for sink pudding to form in various places around my house.
6. Agonizing over three chin zits and one very deep forehead wrinkle.
Since the fundraiser for the playground at the kids’ school, I’ve felt like the air has been sucked out of me. Not in a “punched in the stomach” way, but in a “deflated” way. This is really annoying for me because being closely involved with the fundraiser planning was stressful for me in many ways. So feeling flat now that it is over isn’t as fun as the RELIEF I was hoping to experience.
We raised a good chunk of money for our cause, but there is still more to do. Much of it is quiet and behind the scenes and none of it involves crowd control. Thank God. I’m really hoping we can be heard by someone who is both very rich and very generous so we can get things wrapped up quickly. I suspect that won’t happen and we’ll be begging door-to-door and looking for grant money.
The day after the big event three pimples popped out on my chin. It’s very unattractive and also the opposite of uplifting. Which I would like to have more of. The Uplifting.
Anyway, I’m having serious issues with the way they’re booting contestants on American Idol this season. Like, shooting them in the face would be more gentle. But I’ll talk about that later. I have a ceiling to stare at. Or at which to stare. Pfft.
